Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use Luminary on behalf of an institution, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and tell us promptly at support@luminary-app.com if you suspect unauthorised access. You may delete your account at any time from Settings or via our account deletion page.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the notes, files, messages and other content you create or upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — including generating AI study material you request. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload, including lecture material subject to your institution's rules.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit.
• Use the Service to cheat on assessments in violation of your institution's academic integrity rules.
• Impersonate others, scrape the Service, or interfere with its security or availability.
• Reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly allows it.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms.

5. AI-generated material

Summaries, flashcards and questions generated by Luminary are produced automatically and may contain errors. They are study aids, not a substitute for your course material or your own judgement. Always verify important information against original sources.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Some features may require a paid subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period through your store account settings. Refunds are handled by the store according to its policies.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos and trademarks, belongs to Luminary App Co. and its licensors. These terms do not grant you any right to use our branding.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Luminary available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change or remove features, and may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Luminary App Co. will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence for retained data, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Riyadh, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
